Barbara Seal: Appointed As New Citizenship Judge


A citizenship judge is an official or judge of the Canadian government, who is responsible for making decisions with regard to citizenship applications, presiding over citizenship ceremonies and administering the oath of citizenship to new citizens. A Citizenship Judge is appointed by the current Minister of Citizenship and Immigration (Canada).

Minister Finley announced yesterday the interim appointment of Barbara Seal as the acting senior citizenship judge, for a period not to exceed three months.


Citizenship judges are responsible for making decisions with regard to citizenship applications, presiding over citizenship ceremonies and administering the oath of citizenship to new citizens.
