It all Started with a Google Search | Canada Visa

Monday, August 29, 2011

Mrs. Reanne Medallon, a Registered Nurse, is one those who stumbled upon this blog through Google search. Her visa was issued last week together with other 54 clients.

She took our FREE online assessment and after few email exchanges with Ms. Irene de Lara, she decided to visit our office to start with her application. She will be moving to Canada soon together with her husband and one child.

With all the online scams out there and fraudulent consulting firms sprouting like mushrooms, it is understandably hard to simply entrust your hard-earned money to a consulting firm you just find via a Google search. But unlike other consulting firms, we have a track record to speak of.

Check us out! Visit us at our Mall of Asia office.

Tale of Two Dentists

Tale of Two Dentists

I've talked to two dentists today.

One of them have just received the visa while the other seeks a remedy to her refused visa application. They both attended information seminar/orientation we've conducted. One of them hired the services of Canadian Immigration Consultancy while the other decided to file on her own. They both filed an application under Federal Skilled Workers program.

When Dr. Alvaro attended the seminar few years ago, his occupation wasn't included in the priority occupations and thus, not eligible to apply. But when his occupation was included in the Ministerial Instruction 2 (MI-2), he decided right away to file his application through our help. I have just contacted him this morning to inform him that his visa was delivered to our office yesterday.

While Dr. Alvaro was in the head office attending our in-house pre-departure orientation, I was talking to another dentist who visited our Mall of Asia office. She showed me a refusal letter from Centralized Intake Office (CIO). Her application was refused due to insufficient documents to support her experience as a dentist. To save on cost, she decided to seek help from a friend instead of getting help from an experienced consulting firm. She wanted to file an application again, this time, with our help. Unfortunately, she now have a slim chance due to the information she have already submitted.

Ordinarily, an employment contract and employment certificate with job description is enough proof for your work experience. That what stated in the application checklist from Citizenship and Immigration Canada. But if you have your own dental clinic, who will certify your job description? How do you convince the visa officer that you actually perform the duties of a dentist?

Immigration is not a simple process. Small mistakes cause BIG problems.

When you need a haircut, you go to a barber. When you're sick, you go to a doctor. You want help for your Canadian Immigrant Visa Application? There's Canadian Immigration Consultancy.

Ms. Laarni Abaya Visited Niagara Falls

Saturday, August 20, 2011

Niagara Falls

Ms. Laarni Abaya at Niagara Falls

Ms. Laarani Abaya, a Registered Nurse moved to Canada just last month and is now working as a health care aide at a hospital in Toronto. She sent us her picture taken at Niagara falls when she visit the place last July 31, 2011.

The Niagara Falls are renowned both for beauty and as a valuable source of hydroelectric power. It is situated on the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario and forms the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York. It's really beautiful and it's not surprising why many newly landed immigrants in Ontario seem to visit the place first before seriously looking for job. ;-)

Here's an excerpt from Ms. Laarni Abaya's email to Mr. Irene de Lara, who assisted Ms. Abaya with her Permanent Residence visa application:

I have visited Niagara falls on July 31, 2011. It was a great experience! It was really good to look at the wonders of the Lord. I suggest you visit niagara also at night, fantastic color effects for the falls.

Thanks to Canadian Immigration Consultancy, I am now experiencing a life like this in Canada - a work and a pleasure..

Thursday, August 11, 2011

As of August 10, 2011, 419 complete applications for Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management (NOC 1122) has been received by Centralized Intake Office . There's only 81 slots more left before the 500 cap is reached!

Applications received toward the overall cap: 897 of 10,000 as of August 10, 2011

Eligible Occupation

Approximate Number of Complete Applications Received
0631 Restaurant and Food Service Managers 34
0811 Primary Production Managers (except Agriculture)  6
1122 Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management 419
1233 Insurance Adjusters and Claims Examiners 9

7312 Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics 5
7371 Crane Operators 0
7372 Drillers and Blasters – Surface Mining, Quarrying and Construction 1
8222 Supervisors, Oil and Gas Drilling and Service 7

There is a great chance that most of the 419 applicants who applied under job classification NOC 1122 are not really eligible. I've talked to quite a number of applicants who filed their applications under NOC 1122, without help from a representative. Most of them are Administravie Supervisors, Financial Analysts and other job classifications which do not match the description of Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management.

If Citizenship ang Immigration Canada really wish to target 500 applications per occupation to fill up its labor shortage, it should base the cap on the number of applications with CIO Positive Assessment and not on the number of applications received. But then again, if their objective is to get rid of backlogs and limit the number of immigrants they will allow to enter Canada, an A+ grade for the conservative government is in order.

MPNP Online Applicatiion Tool | Changes in Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Applicants under Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) priority streams may now apply online to have an expedited process using MPNP Online Applicatiion Tool.

MPNP Online Applicatiion Tool
MPNP Online Application Tool

This streamlined online application process is the first and most successful immigration program of its kind in Canada.

MPNP priority streams include Employer Direct Stream, International Student Stream, Family Support Stream and Strategic Initiative Stream.

Applicants under MPNP General Steam are accepted by mail only, and receive regular processing. This program is still open. However, MPNP is now requiring a detailed settlement plan. MPNP General Stream is not a sponsorship program, your financial situation and the community in which you've chosen to settle are two considerations in adaptability.

These changes in Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program will definitely help improve the application process for those who intend to live and work in Manitoba.

Come to Canada Wizard | Free Online Assessment

Saturday, August 06, 2011

Come to Canada Wizard

Citizenship and Immigration Canada recently launched an interactive web tool aiming to make it easier for potential immigrants and visitors to navigate the application process and reduce applicants’ reliance on immigration consultants. It's called Come to Canada Wizard.

I have just tried it myself. The interface is way better than their online self-assessment tool. It is also good that they have provided a page that breaks down the application procedures and links to instructions and forms.

Come to Canada Wizard

But then again, it will leave you clueless why you were not eligible. Talking to a legitimate and experienced consultants will help you understand more the process.

Try the Come to Canada Wizard yourself here.

It is not required to hire a representative/consultant to apply for Canadian Visa. If you think you can do it on your own, you don't need to pay extra for the consultancy fee.

Remember however, that immigration to Canada is not a simple process. Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney himself admitted it.
We understand that our application processes can be complex, but this new tool is a major service improvement,” said Minister Kenney. “The Wizard will make it easier for potential immigrants and visitors to navigate the application process.” [Source]
Emphasis mine.

Immigration is indeed not a simple process and small mistakes cause big problem.

Why take the risk?

Take our Free Online Assessment and we will explain to you the process.

Legazpi City Seminar Schedule | Aug 14, 2011

Mr. Emmanuel Zaballa, from the Albay Bicol, is now in Canada together with his family. Mr. Zaballa is an Electrical Engineer with several years of experience teaching college students.

College Instructors were included in the priority list of occupations under Ministerial Instruction 1 (MI-1). Upon learning the opportunity, he immediately made a decision to apply. Good thing that he grabbed that opportunity because his occupation is no longer included in the current 29 in-demand occupations.

Is your occupation included in the list? Interested to live and work in Canada?

If you are from Legazpi City or nearby towns, this is your chance. Mark your calendar. On August 14, 2011 (Sunday, 1pm), we will be conducting a Live and work in Canada Information Seminar at PIPDC Review Center 3/F Rex Hotel Aguinaldo St., Legazpi City.

How to Check Status of FSW Applications Sent to CIO

Ever wonder what is the status of your Federal Skilled Worker program PR Visa application you've sent to Centralized Intake Office CIO)? Considering the limited number of applications to be accepted under Ministerial Instruction 3 (MI-3), you would of course want to know if your application is already included in the MI-3 Total Number of Applications Received weekly update.

There used to be a CIO Online Inquiry form to check your application status but it's no longer available. I have just checked it few minutes ago.

To verify the status of your application, you may contact Client Service Unit (CSU) of the Central Intake Office through their email address: FSW‑Sydney‑Search‑Enquiry@cic.gc.ca

Please note, however, that you will not receive a reply to your email if:

- you have not already applied as a federal skilled worker
- you are not authorized to receive personal information
- you applied within the last six weeks
- your enquiry concerns any other topic.

It's only the 4th of August so please don't send an email inquiry now to check your application status if you have just sent your application July 1, 2011. And more importantly, very first using your courier tracking number if it was indeed delivered to and received by CIO.
