Fanshawe College COVID-19 Update for May 2020 Intake

According to Fanshawe College – COVID-19 Update dated March 13, 2020, the May 2020 intake at Fanshawe College will proceed as scheduled.

Here are some guidelines you might consider in booking flights or in the event that you opted to defer your intake schedule:

Flights to Canada
Canada has not declared any ban on flights from any country given the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Philippine government has imposed a travel ban to and from Metro Manila, specifically NAIA until March 15 to April 14, 2020. Some international airports are still operational but several flights still has transfers in Manila before they can depart to other countries. Given this, you may consider the following:

  • Rebook flights to a later date due to the travel ban in Metro Manila
  • Book a direct flight instead of flights with layovers in other countries such as Hong Kong or Korea

Quarantine upon arrival in Canada
Despite the increase of confirmed cases and death in the Philippines, Canada has not imposed a mandatory quarantine for all passengers traveling to Canada. However, it might be a good practice for you to monitor your temperature and condition before, during and upon arrival in Canada for precautionary measures.

Deferral to later intake
In case you are a bit wary with the current situation, you are allowed to defer to a later intake. However, please note that seats are subject to availability for that specific intake and program. Should you want to defer your intake, please send email to admission@gatewaytocanada.com
