What is a Super Visa?

A super visa is a Temporary Resident Visa that lets you visit your children or grandchildren for 5 years at a time. It’s a visa that provides multiple entries for a period of up to 10 years. 


To be eligible, you must meet all the requirements provided for in Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations. You may find the details by visiting Canada's Immigration website

Eligibility Requirements

You must meet these basic requirements to get a super visa:

  • You must have a host (Child or Grandchild) who is at least 18 years old

  • Your host must either be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and must meet the necessary income requirement

  • You must be outside Canada when you submit your application for a super visa

  • You must have proof of a health insurance policy

  • You must pass the medical examination
