Sinopharm, Sinovac and COVAXIN are now recognized by Canada

Effective November 30, 2021, Canada will expand the list of COVID-19 vaccines that travellers can receive to be considered fully vaccinated for the purpose of travel to Canada.

Initially, only the following COVID 19 Vaccines are accepted in Canada:
  • Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty, tozinameran, BNT162b2)
  • Moderna (Spikevax, mRNA-1273)
  • AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD (ChAdOx1-S, Vaxzevria, AZD1222)
  • Janssen/Johnson & Johnson (Ad26.COV2.S)
The new list will now include Sinopharm, Sinovac and COVAXIN, matching the World Health Organization Emergency Use Listing. Source: www.canada.ca

The government of Canada also announced earlier that beginning October 30, 2021, passengers over the age of 12 plus four months travelling by air or rail will need to provide proof of vaccination in order to board a train or plane with a very few exemptions.
